This week Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Syracuse's Sedgwick Neighborhood.  Rita wanted to freshen up her living room, stairway and hall with new paint.  She liked the original colors but wanted to change up the sheen's for a slight contrast between the walls and molding.  Originally she had flat walls and satin for the molding-doors.  To start we centered all the large furniture and covered it with painters plastic.  Hardware, switch plates, outlet covers, curtains, blinds were removed and stored neatly.  Her oak floors were covered with drop clothes and the kitchen cabinets-counters were draped with plastic to fix the crack in her ceiling and then paint it later after retexturing the repaired area to match.  The french doors, hallway doors, molding, risers, stringers, balusters, rail, built-ins were hand and machine sanded to remove the sheen.  Everything was then thoroughly vacuumed and wiped down to remove dust.  Cracks, seams and nail holes were wood puttied then sanded to flush and cleaned.  Raw wood was oil primed to prevent bleed through on the woodwork and water-stains.  Once the prep work was completed the fun began with one coat of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint.  The walls laser straight lines were cut in then one coated with Benjamin Moore Ultra-Spec 500 Interior Eggshell in Dunmore Cream.  To pull it all together one coat also of Dunmore Cream was applied to all the doors, molding, mantle, stairway, built ins with Benjamin Moore Advanced semi-gloss.  Here's a few picks below.
