Recently Donigan Painting repainted a customers house in Liverpool. Larry and his wife wanted the exterior of their house painted from a white to an olive green and tan. With aluminum siding often times in between being painted it will become chalky to the point where you can run your hand across it and have a hand covered in what appears to be chalk dust the color of your house. This is because the paint breaks down. In order to get the new paint to stick this needs to be removed. So what we do is wet it down with a garden house, no pressure washer needed, and apply either Simple Green or trisodium phosphate. After the solution has setup for a few minutes it is scrubbed with a stiff bristle brush and rinsed removing the chalky residue. The best exterior paint for aluminum in my experience is Sherwin-Williams Super Paint. They took my advice and went with this product and the results were fantastic. Here is a pic of how it turned out.
