This week Donigan Painting updated a 60's bathroom at a customers home in Liverpool NY.  The master bathroom had dated wallpaper from the 80's, no shower door and an old sink faucet.  The owners were on a budget and wanted to update it without a complete remodel.  We began by removing the flower wallpaper and the paste-residue.  After a thorough cleaning of the glue from the walls all the dings and dents were filled with joint compound then sanded.  Two coats of Sherwin-Williams Cashmere Marshmallow were applied in an eggshell finish to the walls and two coats of Eminence Flat Bright White Ceiling Paint were applied to the ceiling.  A new Delta glass shower door was installed on a their Contemporary Brushed Nickel Door Track in their tiled tub.  The sink was updated with a brushed nickel faucet to compliment the hardware through out the bathroom.

Interior-Exterior House Painting Contractor Syracuse NY

This week Donigan Painting worked with a customer in Skaneateles who needed the interior of their summer cottage painted.  Jim and Susan renovated their 50's style cottage over the winter and now needed the finishing touch with the interior walls, doors, kitchen cabinets and molding painted.  The knotty pine, kitchen cabinets, new doors and molding were primed twice with Zinsser's All-Prime Shellac based primer in white and light grey to cover knots-tannins.  The new kitchen cabinets and old were prepped and primed as well.  The old pulls and hardware were removed and filled with wood putty then sanded.  Door hardware and hinges were removed for smoother finishes.  All holes big and small thru-out the pine were filled with wood putty or caulk.  The new wood flooring was covered with rosin paper.  Once the prep was completed two coats of Benjamin Moore Ultra-Spec 500 Edgecomb Gray eggshell were applied to the walls, two coats of White Down in pearl sheen to the doors/molding and two coats of Advanced Alkyd Edgecomb Gray satin were applied to the kitchen cabinets. Here are before and after pics of the completed work.  The GC is reinstalling the new hardware on the kitchen cabinets and hanging them.

Exterior House Painting Contractor Syracuse NY

Recently Donigan Painting restored the exterior of a home in Dewitt for a real estate customer.  Courtney's realtor recommended our service because we have worked with the FHA loan process and know what the lenders expect to meet the standard for qualification.  The windows in this case had a lot of peeling paint and needed thorough scraping, priming, caulking, paint.  One window had a hole in its sill from a woodpecker that was 3 inches deep.  It was wood putty filled and sanded to the point that you could not tell the difference between the old and new.  Once all the prep work was completed, including oil priming bare wood, we applied two coats of Sherwin-Williams Duration in a flat white sheen to hide inconsistencies.  Here is how it turned out!  As you can see they had no problem qualifying from the pod in their driveway.

Exterior House Painting Syracuse NY

This week Donigan Painting worked with a customer in Liverpool to get her parents home ready to put on the market.  Mary Ellen called me a few weeks ago concerned she was being quoted to much by other painting contractors she had received quotes from.  After meeting with her to discuss her needs and timeline we looked at the other estimates to see what we could do to help her be on budget.  After crunching the numbers we were able to cut her cost to make budget and provide a high quality finish to her childhood home.  We painted the entire interior which was the kitchen, living room, 4 bedrooms, 3 halls and two bathrooms.  She chose Sherwin-Williams Emerald in Marshmallow in an eggshell finish for all the walls and bright white semi-gloss for the ceilings and molding.  We floated out some water damaged areas with joint compound and applied new texture to damage on the ceilings.  Here are some pictures of how it turned out.

This week Donigan Painting worked with a homeowner in Jamesville that has a large older deck that needed some attention.  Samantha and Jim emailed me and set an immediate appointment to take a look at their needs.  The next day the deck was assessed to check condition that includes:  rotted boards, painted or stained last time, type of stain previously used.  The rotted boards were replaced.  The deck was stained with a cottage red solid stain last time.  Loose or peeling stain was hand scraped and sanded off.  The floor, rail, balusters and stairs were thoroughly pressure washed and dried for about a week due to Syracuse's rainy weather lately.  The lattice and siding were covered with paper and plastic.  Then two coats of Sherwin-Williams Super Deck Solid-Caribou was applied with at least 12 hours dry time in between coats.   Here is how it turned out!

Exterior Painting Syracuse NY

Donigan Painting recently started working on a home in Syracuse's Westcott Neighborhood.  The customer called us to estimate the exterior of his 1920's colonial.  We set an appointment to meet and discuss his needs.  A detailed quote including all steps to be taken from prep work to finish was typed up and emailed within 24 hours.  After receiving a few other quotes that contained only a price our new customer decided on going with a painting contractor who spelled it all out and left nothing to be guessed.  Last week we began prep work on his house by stripping the 1st floor clapboards down to the bare cedar removing years of layers and peeling paint.  This week we will continue with the prep phase of the project by stripping a few more areas then oil priming all the bare wood.  The next step is caulking and wood putty filling holes and cracks.  Stay tuned for the finished product pics coming soon.

Exterior House Painting Syracuse NY

This past week Donigan Painting worked in Skaneateles on the interior of a customers home who needed to update the look and flow of their homes layout to entice buyers.  After Lisa Ryan, a home stager, assessed the situation we were brought in to paint a bedroom, dated wood in their stairway rail-balusters-stringers,  living room wood surround and to install crown molding throughout a few different rooms.  We started by painting the pink bedrooms ceiling and walls.  As you will see in the pictures below it was a very pink on the walls and ceiling.  We applied three coats of Sherwin-Williams Promar 200 no voc matte to the walls and two coats of Pittsburgh's Ceiling paint bright white flat.  A few areas in this bedrooms walls had buckled so they were cut out and floated with joint compound.  The stairway rail-balusters-stringers were coated with two applications of PPG's Seal-Grip Acrylic and top coated with two applications of Sherwin-Williams Pro-Classic Enamel in Pella White semi-gloss.  We also installed 150 feet of crown molding in the master bedroom-bath and upstairs hallway.  The crown was painted with the Pro-Classic Pella White as well.  The master bath was painted with SW's Promar 200 matte in a light grey from a dark red.  Here is how it all turned out.
