Due to all the snow this winter many of my customers had issues with ice dams forming on their roofs and causing water damage on the inside of their house. At my house recently I came home to find a section of my closet ceiling on the floor from water damage. Ice had built up on my roof and got inside somehow causing the sheetrock to fail after being waterlogged. Well once the insurance company removed the damaged sheetrock and mitigated the water damage with dehumidifiers and floor driers we were able to put the room back together. WE started by reinsulating the outside wall and ceiling. Heavy mil plastic was installed as a vapor barrier over this. New sheetrock was hung, taped, finished then painted. Thankfully our insurance company was very helpful and provided us with funds to repair all the work and get back to normal.
