Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Syracuse New York. Jen called for a quote to paint her foyer-stairway and upstairs hallway. After meeting to discuss her needs the quote was formalized in an email and accepted shortly after. The date was set, and work began promptly about a month later. To start all the furniture was moved from these areas. the floors were covered with clean drop cloths and adjacent areas were masked off as needed to protect them. Repairs were made to the walls using joint compound then each areas walls-molding-doors were sanded to smooth for a glass like finish when top coated. Two coats of paint were applied to the ceiling since they had not been painted in decades followed by two coats of her choices of colors to the walls using Sherwin Williams Super Paint eggshell. The molding and doors were scuff sanded-wiped down then top coated with two applications of Sherwin Williams Pro Classic Enamel semigloss. Thank you for all the work Jen, enjoy.

Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Dewitt New York. Maria and Dave just bought a their first home by Drumlins Gold Course. They called us to get a quote for painting the entire interior before they moved in. After meeting to discuss their needs a quote was emailed and accepted. The start date was sent and the deposit was mailed. Work began promptly about a month later Monday morning. They planned to move in after the work was completed so set up went fast. Clean drop cloths were placed over all the hardwoods throughout the house. Fixtures, hardware, cabinets, counters and windows were taped and masked with painters plastic and paper. Switch covers-outlet covers and registers were removed and stored. Repairs were made to the walls using joint compound. Multiple coats were applied as needed to the plaster walls to get them true again. Many rooms had wallpaper that needed to be removed. After a few days the walls were clear of paper and paste. They were then thoroughly cleaned with hot water then sanded with fine grit sandpaper to remove and texture-snags. All the doors were removed and setup in a spray jig in their large basement. Each door was machine and hand sanded to remove the shiny finish and dull it for excellent adhesion. After this they were vacuumed and wiped don with clean cloths to remove dust and sediment. Once prep work was completed one coat of Sherwin Williams ProMar Ceiling Paint was applied with a sprayer-brush-roller for a beautiful uniform bright white coat. Following this each of the 12 rooms were painted with their color choices in Purcell's Regal Select eggshell. The doors and molding were also sprayed with Benjamin Moore Advance alkyd for a rock-solid finish made to last for decades. Clean-up was a cinch, and all plates-hardware was replaced. Once the doors had setup for a week new hardware was installed and the doors were rehung. Thank you for all the work and enjoy your new home!

Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Manlius New York. Steve's home needed some interior wall-ceiling repairs. After meeting to discuss his needs the quote was sent and date was set shortly after to start. About a month later work began promptly with setting up each area to be painted and repaired with clean drop cloths-taping/masking hardware-fixtures. Repairs were made to the foyer-living room ceilings with water damage using joint compound. After the areas were fixed they were primed for painting. Both ceilings were then painted using Sherwin Williams ProMar Ceiling Paint twice for excellent coverage. Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Fayetteville New York. Dr. Clark just bought a new home in the village to Airbnb. The house was in need of updating throughout. It sat unoccupied for many years and it showed. After walking thru and discussing her needs the quote was sent and accepted. Work began about a month later. We started by removing the wallpaper in all the rooms. After using tried and true methods and about two weeks of manpower it was all off. The plaster walls had many cracks so we spent a significant amount of time repairing them with joint compound and sanding. Once everything was prepped we sprayed the entire interior top to bottom with Purcells PPG Seal Grip Primer to seal all the mud. Following this two coats of ceiling paint were applied with a sprayer and back rolled. Next two coats of Purcell's Regal Select were applied brushed and rolled in each room with her specific colors. The doors had been removed and setup in the barn to be sanded then sprayed with Benjamin Moore Advance Alkyd white semigloss. The same product was applied to all the molding throughout after it had been cleaned-sanded-caulked.

Recently Donigan Painting completed an exterior repaint in CAmillus New York. Kristin and Nick just bought their first house and wanted to update the colors. The house had not been painted in over 20 years. It was in need of a ton of prep work before paint. We began by scraping each side of the house cutting back the many layers of paint to no edge. As we scraped the back of the house we discovered an area near the deck that had thoroughly rotted under the shingles. The damaged-rotted wood shingles were removed revealing a large cluster of carpenter ants that eaten away a large section of the houses wood plate. The rotted wood was removed-replaced-reinforced then reshingled to match. As we worked around the house wet rot had eaten away at a bunch of window molding. These were also replaced to match. When we started the rear roof line we discovered that the whole area along it was rotted wood shingles. So once again we removed the bottom three courses of shingles and replaced them with new matching shakes. After all the rotted wood was replaced the remaining peeling paint was cut back-oil primed. After the oil primer one coat of PPG Seal Grip Primer was applied followed by two coats of Sherwin Williams Super Paint in Rivers Edge flat. The first top coat was sprayed and the second was rolled to really penetrate the shake shingles. Following this the trim-molding were two coated with Benjamin Moores Simply White eggshell. The foundation was wire brushed and two coated with Sherwin Williams Mindful Gray eggshell. Their deck was previously pressure washed when the house was and was now ready to be stained. Two coats of Purcell's ProLuxe Semitransparent in Honey and white were applied. The decking was stained with the honey and the balusters-rail were stained with the white for contrast. To wrap this one up the shutters were sprayed at the shop then rehung. Thank you for all the work!

Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Syracuse Sedgwick Neighborhood. Ron and Nicole are getting ready to sell their home on Sedgwick Drive and wanted to repair their full bath ceiling that had cracked. Previously Donigan Painting repainted a large portion of the interior of their home when they bought it 7 years ago. Multiple layers of wallpaper were removed and many plaster repairs were made. This time around we removed a section of an arched ceiling that had cracked due to the house settling. After the damaged portion was removed, wood was bent to fit the shape of the arch and installed then coated multiple times with plaster to reshape it to its original form. in between coats the area was sanded then recoated until it was near perfect. Once the repair was completed it was primed using Purcells PPG Seal Grip then top coated with Sherwin Williams Pro Mar Ceiling Paint twice. Thank you for all the work. Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Syracuse New York. LeMoyne College needed a bunch of common areas in various buildings repainted before the winter. After meeting with the head maintenance manager, the quote was sent and accepted. Work began about a month later. We started in the first building and worked our way through each common area prepping then top coating ceilings-walls-molding-doors-stairs-stairways. The product used was Sherwin Williams Super Paint. We would prep each area by sanding down the areas to remove the finishes, then carefully applied multiple coats neatly.
