Last week Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Camillus NY.  Sandy and Athanas change their colors every other year and call me when they are ready.  Last time, about two years ago, they had me paint their living room, kitchen, den and hallway dark reds and dark colored blues.  This time they have decided to go with lighter-airy colors that will brighten up their spaces.  They chose to go with off whites that will reflect light and brighten their home.  So to start we centered all the furniture and covered with painters plastic, pole sanded the walls, patched the walls, caulked gaps-nail holes, and cleaned cob-webs-dust before painting.  One coat of Seal-Grip Primer by PPG was applied to all the walls to neutralize the darker colors and get the walls ready for lighter paint colors.  Basically when you from dark colors to light you have to prime.  The base-window-door molding was scuffed to remove the shiny finish for the new enamel to adhere correctly this is a crucial step.  The floors were covered with drop cloths and kitchen cabinets/counters were taped and draped with 8 foot plastic.  One coat of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint was applied followed by two coats of their color choices on the walls in eggshell finish.  Once the paint set up for about a day we came back, taped out the molding as needed, then applied two coats of Benjamin Moore Advance Enamel in a bright white satin finish.  Thanks for all the work and having me back every few years to change it up!

Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Skaneateles NY.  Chris called for a quote to repaint most of the walls and some ceilings in her home after a renovation caused some issues.  About a year ago Chris put an addition on their home.  After a year nail pops and cracks began surfacing all over the addition.  After pointing out dozens of these I had all the information I needed to get her a quote.  She made it very clear that she was looking for absolute perfection.  The previous contractors painter was heavy handed and used a very thick roller nap globbing the paint on in areas and leaving the finish looking like orange peel knock down on a ceiling.  Upon arriving on the start date we centered all of their furniture and covered it with painters plastic.  The oak base-window-door molding was taped and draped with painters paper.  Kitchen cabinets, their granite and other fixtures were covered with plastic.  Once everything was protected the nail pops  and cracks were knocked down and floated with new joint compound.  Once they set up the patches were carefully sanded to flush with the walls and ceilings.  In a few of their bathrooms the ceilings texture had to be removed to get to the nail pops, patched, then re-textured to match the existing half-moon pattern.  After the prep work was completed two coats of Benjamin Moore Regal Select in the same color were applied.  In between coats the walls were pole sanded for a smooth-glass finish.  Thank you for all the work Chris!

This week Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Lyncourt, NY.  Sarah wanted to update her homes interior with paint color that reflected her style.  After meeting to figure out what exactly she wanted done we set the date, finalized colors, signed off on the work.  To start the little furniture she left in each room was centered and covered with painters plastic.  The floors were covered with drop cloths, outlet-switch covers were removed, the walls were sanded, nail holes-cracks were floated with joint compound-sanded-cleaned.  Two coats of Pittsburgh Ceiling paint were applied to the ceilings in each room.  Following dry time two coats of Benjamin Moore Ultra-Spec 500 in Revere Pewter eggshell were applied.  To wrap this one up the furniture was reset, the rooms were vacuumed.  Thank you Sarah for being a great customer!  It was a pleasure painting in your home.

Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Dewitt NY.  Jimmy and Lily just bought a new home.  Before they moved in they wanted to repaint each room to fit their taste.  After meeting and discussing their needs the quote was sent and they signed off on the work.  We set the date and got right to work when we arrived a couple of weeks ago.  Their split level had not been repainted in 30 years and it showed.  So to start we covered the floors, counters, cabinets with drop cloths and painters plastic.  Two coats of Pittsburgh Ceiling were applied to all the ceilings.  Nail holes and cracks were patched and primed, the walls were sanded, and the molding was scuffed-caulked-puttied.  Following the prep work two coats of Benjamin Moore Regal Select in an eggshell finish were applied to the walls.  The base-door-window molding were two coated with Sherwin-Williams Emerald Enamel in bright white semi-gloss finish to wrap this one up.

Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in the Syracuse University Neighborhood.  Craig had a kitchen fire about a week ago.   I was called in to assess if it could be painted or if it was a complete loss.  The homeowners stove caught on fire while cooking and released black smoke and soot all over their home leaving a terrible smell and staining on all the ceilings and portions of the walls it traveled along.  So to start all the furniture was centered and covered with painters plastic.  The floors were covered with drop cloths and hardware was taped-masked.  Three coats of Sherwin-Williams Shellac Primer was sprayed on and allowed to dry over night sealing in the smoke damage and eliminating the odor.  The next day two coats of Sherwin-Williams ProMar 200 were applied to the walls.  Once everything had set up the furniture was unwrapped and reset.

Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Cicero, NY.  Elda called for a quote to repaint her two story foyer and living room with vaulted ceilings.  After discussing colors, time frame, and price we set a start date for a few weeks later.  When we started we began by centering and covering the furniture in each room with painters plastic.  Cabinets, counters and hardware were taped and masked with paper and plastic to protect them.  Switch-outlet covers and hardware were removed and stored to be replaced.  Prep work included cleaning the ceiling-walls-molding, pole sanding the walls to smooth, scuffing the molding to remove the shiny finish.  Gaps around the molding were caulked and nail holes were wood puttied-sanded-primed.  The floors were covered with drop cloths and we cut in the walls.  One coat of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint was applied to the ceilings.  Two coats of Benjamin Moore Regal Select in eggshell finishes were applied to the walls in Revere Pewter.  To wrap this one up two coats of Sherwin-Williams Emerald Enamel bright white satin finish were applied.  Furniture was reset and we removed plastic and tape then vacuumed.
