Last week Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Dewitt NY. Sarah needed to update her living room and dining room. 90's wallpaper was keeping her rooms in a time warp and she was ready to come into this century. After colors were picked, the date was set, and the contract was signed we got right to work. To start we moved all the furniture to the center of the rooms and it was cover with painters plastic. The fixtures-surfaces not being painted were taped and masked off and the floors were covered with drop cloths. The wall paper was thoroughly soaked with DIF and piping hot water until it basically fell off the wall. Once the paper was removed the paste was scraped off with large putty knives then hand washed with hot water to get the paste residue removed. Small dings-dents were patched with joint compound, sanded, cleaned, primed. The walls and molding were scuffed to remove their gloss and any imperfections for a smooth-glass finish. Once prep work was completed the walls were cut in with Benjamin Moore Regal Select in Revere Pewter eggshell finish. The natural wood molding was nailed down as needed, caulked to fill gaps and two coated with Zinsser Oil Primer then top coated twice with Benjamin Moore Advanced bright white semigloss.

Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Skaneateles NY. Cheryl called for a quote to repaint most of her homes walls. A year ago they remodeled most of their home and the GC left a ton of nail pops, cracks, and holidays on their walls leaving them less than satisfied. Enter Donigan Painting to save the day! After assessing the situation with their walls it was clear to me that whoever did the painting used a very thick nap, rolling it onto to heavy, did not sand between coats, missed pin holes-nail pops, left settling cracks in a bunch of support beams and corners. So to start all the furniture was centered and covered with painters plastic. Fixtures, counters, cabinets were taped and masked with paper and plastic and the floors were covered with drop cloths. The walls were thoroughly sanded to remove the orange peel finish, nap hairs, dirt/dust. The pin holes and nail pops were patched with mud, sanded and cleaned. Once each wall looked perfect two coats of Benjamin Moore Regal Select in a off white eggshell were applied with a light sanding in between coats for maximum smoothness. To wrap this one up we vacuumed, cleaned and reset the furniture before they arrived home from vacation. Thanks for all the work Cheryl

This week Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Liverpool NY. Melissa just bought her first home and wanted to make it her own. After meeting to discuss her needs, we set the start date, sent over the contract, finalized colors. Since she had not moved in yet I was able to save her a significant amount of money not having to move and cover furniture. Prep work included floating out wall damage in most of the rooms with joint compound, nailing down base molding, caulking gaps, sanding walls-molding, cleaning. Two rooms darker colors were primed to neutralize the colors before their top coats. Her master bedroom closet had a system installed that was falling apart and damaged the walls significantly. The closets hardware was removed and multiple coats of mud were applied to bring them flush. Once prep was completed two coats of paint were applied to all the walls in Benjamin Moore Ultra-Spec 500 eggshell finishes. The base molding was taped out for straight lines and two coats of Sherwin-Williams Emerald Enamel in a semi-gloss off white.

Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Syracuse's Sedgwick Neighborhood. Vanessa needed to have her kitchen ceiling repainted, her entry hallway, and repair a few holes in her ceiling and walls. So to start the damaged sections of the ceiling and walls were cut out and replaced with new sheet rock. The joints were taped and mudded. After a few coats of joint compound the patches were sanded, cleaned and primed. Her furniture-cabinets-counters-floors were covered with painters plastic, tape-paper, and drop cloths. One coat of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint was applied to the ceilings in a flat white. The walls were pole sanded and vacuumed. Two coats of Benjamin Moore Regal Select in a gray eggshell were then applied. To wrap this one up one coat of Sherwin-Williams Emerald Enamel was applied to the base and door molding.

Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint on Onondaga Hill. Jason and Laura just remodeled their kitchen and while they had most of their furniture moved out for the remodel they decided painting the entire first floor would be a good idea. They wanted to update the colors in the kitchen, eat in area, den, living room, dining room and large foyer. After discussing their needs I typed up an estimate an emailed right over. They accepted the bid, the start date was set, the contract was signed, colors were finalized and the deposit was sent. When we started all the floors were covered with drop cloths, switch/outlet covers-registers and hardware were removed and stored to be reinstalled. The walls were pole sanded to remove any snags or nap fibers from the previous painters, nail holes-cracks in the walls were patched with joint compound-sanded-cleaned, gaps along the molding were caulked and the molding was scuffed to remove the shiny finish so the new paint would adhere. Cabinets-counters-windows were taped and masked. Once the prep work was completed one coat of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint was sprayed on. After setting up two coats of Benjamin Moore Regal Select in their chosen colors were applied in eggshell finishes for easy cleaning. To wrap this one up the molding was sprayed with one coats of Sherwin-Williams Emerald Enamel in a bright white satin finish. Tape, plastic, and paper were removed and each room was cleaned.

Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Cicero, NY. John and Amy needed to repaint their newly finished basement. The fresh sheet rock needed to be cleaned, primed and painted along with a bunch of raised panel doors, molding and the ceilings. Once colors were finalized the start was set and the contract was signed. We started by covering the floors with ram board, taping and masking fixtures and hardware. Once everything was airtight we sprayed one coat of PPG's Seal-Grip Primer and rolled it in. After it had set up one coat of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint was applied by roller. The molding was caulked to seal and gaps and nail holes were filled with wood putty and sanded. Following dry time two coats of Benjamin Moore Regal Select in a light gray were applied to the walls. The 10 doors were removed, hardware taken off and set up in a jig to get ready for spraying for a factory finish. Two coats of Sherwin-Williams Emerald Enamel were applied to the doors. After the dried thoroughly the hardware was replaced and the doors were hung. To wrap this one up two coats of the same enamel were applied to the primed base-door-window molding. The ram board was pulled up, tape-plastic was removed, the area was cleaned and we were done!

Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in East Syracuse NY. Debbie and David wanted to update their new homes colors with some trendy neutrals for easy decorating. We met about a month ago before the holidays to do a walk thru and discuss exactly what they wanted done. They wanted to start with first floor because their new furniture would not be arriving for another month and painting would be easier without having to move around furniture, lowering the price. The borders in each room were dated and needed to be removed. Overall the condition of the walls were good. Prep work consisted of pole sanding the walls to smooth, filling nail holes. The base-window-door molding was scuffed to remove the finish and cleaned. The floors were covered with drop cloths and cabinets-fixtures were taped and masked with plastic and paper. One coat of Pittsburgh Ceiling was applied. Following this two coats of Sherwin-Williams Promar 200 in various colors were applied in eggshell finishes. Once the paint dried over night the molding was two coated with SW's Emerald Enamel in bright white semi-gloss finish.
