Last week Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Camillus, NY. Denise wanted to completely flip the style of her dutch colonials first floor. Her living room, sun room, dining room, kitchen, office, foyer, and stairway needed an update. She wanted to lighten up the dark old original wood molding with bright white. Her windows, base molding, door molding, railing, stringers-risers were all transformed from dark wood to bright white. To start all the molding was machine and hand sanded to remove the shiny gloss so the new paint would adhere. Next it was wiped down with mineral spirits to remove dust and clean it. Two coats of oil primer were applied followed by extensive caulking to fill seams-gaps between the walls and quarter round. Two ceiling repairs were made in the foyer and office were water had leaked that involved removing the damaged plaster and repairing it with joint compound to match the existing ceiling pattern. One coat of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint was then applied to brighten them up. Two coats of Sherwin-Williams Promar 200 Eggshell finish were applied to all the walls in each room in various colors. To wrap her first floor up two coats of Sherwin-Williams Emerald Enamel Semi-gloss ultra white were applied to all the molding as well as the stair rail-risers-stringers. Here's how it turned out!

This week Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Cicero, NY. Ron and Jenna just bought a foreclosed property off of Rt.31. Their newer Ryan Home needed their personal touch and some updating from the previous owners so they called us. The neon green and beige theme had to go. So to start all the ceilings were one coated with Sherwin-Williams bright white ceiling paint Eminence. Unlike other brands this ceiling white is actually a bright white with no gray undertones or creme hints, it's as white as it comes. The walls dings-dents-nail holes filled with joint compound, sanded and cleaned. A few walls-ceilings needed sections of sheet rock taken out and replaced from water damage, then textured to match the existing pattern. All the walls were pole sanded to smooth to remove little snags and roller nap pieces from the previous painter. Two coats of Sherwin-Williams ProMar 200 in their spec colors/eggshell finish were applied to all the walls. Their base-door-window molding was sanded, caulked then two coat with Benjamin Moore's Advanced semi-gloss white to wrap this one up.

Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Baldwinsville, NY. Joanna and Rob wanted to personalize their new house with a touch of color. The previous owners painted most of the inside with a tan color that was pretty dated. So when I showed up early for our initial appointment-walk thru Joanna was very excited to discuss different color options and how they would look with newly painted crown and brighter colored walls. After discussing a few colors she decided that lightening up the walls with a bright off white would do the trick. Fast forward three weeks to last Monday with the contract signed with her approval on the work order, color choices finalized and the deposit in hand we started the prep work bright and early. The crown-base-window-door molding were sanded to scuff the surfaces for new enamel paint to adhere correctly, the walls were pole sanded and any imperfections were repaired on the walls with joint compound, floated, sanded, cleaned and primed. Next one coat of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint was applied to set the stage for reflecting bright light on to their newly painted walls. On this job we painted the kitchen, two story foyer, and the living room. All of the molding was caulked to seal gaps and nail holes were wood puttied then sanded. Two coats of Benjamin Moore Advance semi-gloss white were then applied. Following this two coats of Sherwin-Williams Cashmere Simply White in an eggshell finish were applied. Once the paint was applied the furniture was reset and we cleaned up the work areas.

This week Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Liverpool NY. Vito needed his living room, kitchen, hallway and two bedrooms painted. Since he's a smoker the ceilings needed two coats of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint to cover the staining. Before starting his furniture was centered and covered with plastic, cabinets-counters were covered as well as the floors with drop cloths. Dings and dents in the walls were filled with joint compound, sanded and spot primed. The walls were pole sanded to smooth and the molding was scuffed to get it ready to hold the new paint on. Two coats of Sherwin-Williams Cashmere in an eggshell finish were applied in a light gray. Following this one coat of Benjamin Moore Impervo Satin was applied to the base-window-door molding.

Monday Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Syracuse's Eastwood Neighborhood. Kristi called a few weeks ago for an estimate to paint her high ceiling stairway-upstairs hallway. She had recently purchased a new home and wanted to put her touch on this area. When she moved in the walls were gouged and dented and having three boys made maintaining flat white walls quite a chore. So to start the walls dings-dents were repaired with joint compound, sanded and cleaned. Her new railing was removed along with switch-outlet covers for smooth rolling when the paint went on. The base-window-door molding was caulked and sanded to prepare it for new paint. One coat of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint was then applied brightening it up right away. Next two coats of Sherwin-Williams ProMar 200 Online (dark gray) eggshell were applied transforming the walls. To wrap this one up one coat of Benjamin Moore Advanced White semi-gloss was applied to all the molding including the stair stringers-risers.

This weekend Donigan Painting completed and interior repaint in Liverpool, NY. Maryellen is a long time customer who called me a few weeks ago. She was planning to repaint all the walls in her home and wanted my company to repaint her ceilings through out the house and her tall stairway-hallway going upstairs. Since she is a loyal customer so I gave her a great deal. When I arrived Saturday morning at 8 am I started the day by centering all the furniture in each room and covering it with painters plastic. Her living room and dining room drapes were carefully taken down and covered. The hardware, door knobs and switches were covered with tape. Drop cloth's were placed over the hardwood floors in each room and some of her pictures that were not taken down were covered with paper. Next the ceilings were cut in with Sherwin-Williams ProMar 400 white semi-gloss. She likes the high reflective sheen that semi-gloss has on surfaces and wants all the light she can get throughout her house so she chose semi-gloss. Once the ceilings were cut in one coat of paint was applied. The plastic and tape was then removed and her furniture was reset. Sunday the stairway-hallway walls were painted. The railing was removed and her wood molding was covered with plastic. Two coats of Sherwin-Williams ProMar 200 Dover White in an eggshell finish was applied. Her railing was replaced and we wrapped up the job by cleaning up.

This week Donigan Painting completed and exterior restain in Liverpool, NY. Nick is selling his townhouse and needed to have the front and backside scraped and restained in order for his buyers home loan to go thru. His hoa insisted this be done before he sells and with FHA backed loans often times there can be no peeling paint on a home before it is sold. Enter my painting company to fix the problem. We started by hand scraping both sides of his townhouse and then sanding the cedar clapboards to smooth for a perfect finish. Old caulk around windows and doors was removed then recaulked with a 25 year silicone caulk to match the white molding. Loose boards were nailed down and the entire site was vacuumed clean before starting the stain process. Since temperatures in Syracuse in March can vary by a lot we had to wait for the perfect time frame to allow it to set up properly and dry properly when temperatures at night were staying above 32 for at least three nights. Wednesday was that day so in the warm 50 degree sun two coats of Sherwin-Williams WoodScapes Solid Stain were applied. Once again Donigan Painting was able to provide a fix to have his house done before April 1st so that his buyer could finance it. Yesterday before I left his house the realtor put the sold sign out. Nick called me last night and is very happy everything worked out and his plans to move are in order.
