This week Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Liverpool NY. Vito needed his living room, kitchen, hallway and two bedrooms painted. Since he's a smoker the ceilings needed two coats of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint to cover the staining. Before starting his furniture was centered and covered with plastic, cabinets-counters were covered as well as the floors with drop cloths. Dings and dents in the walls were filled with joint compound, sanded and spot primed. The walls were pole sanded to smooth and the molding was scuffed to get it ready to hold the new paint on. Two coats of Sherwin-Williams Cashmere in an eggshell finish were applied in a light gray. Following this one coat of Benjamin Moore Impervo Satin was applied to the base-window-door molding.

Monday Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Syracuse's Eastwood Neighborhood. Kristi called a few weeks ago for an estimate to paint her high ceiling stairway-upstairs hallway. She had recently purchased a new home and wanted to put her touch on this area. When she moved in the walls were gouged and dented and having three boys made maintaining flat white walls quite a chore. So to start the walls dings-dents were repaired with joint compound, sanded and cleaned. Her new railing was removed along with switch-outlet covers for smooth rolling when the paint went on. The base-window-door molding was caulked and sanded to prepare it for new paint. One coat of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint was then applied brightening it up right away. Next two coats of Sherwin-Williams ProMar 200 Online (dark gray) eggshell were applied transforming the walls. To wrap this one up one coat of Benjamin Moore Advanced White semi-gloss was applied to all the molding including the stair stringers-risers.

This weekend Donigan Painting completed and interior repaint in Liverpool, NY. Maryellen is a long time customer who called me a few weeks ago. She was planning to repaint all the walls in her home and wanted my company to repaint her ceilings through out the house and her tall stairway-hallway going upstairs. Since she is a loyal customer so I gave her a great deal. When I arrived Saturday morning at 8 am I started the day by centering all the furniture in each room and covering it with painters plastic. Her living room and dining room drapes were carefully taken down and covered. The hardware, door knobs and switches were covered with tape. Drop cloth's were placed over the hardwood floors in each room and some of her pictures that were not taken down were covered with paper. Next the ceilings were cut in with Sherwin-Williams ProMar 400 white semi-gloss. She likes the high reflective sheen that semi-gloss has on surfaces and wants all the light she can get throughout her house so she chose semi-gloss. Once the ceilings were cut in one coat of paint was applied. The plastic and tape was then removed and her furniture was reset. Sunday the stairway-hallway walls were painted. The railing was removed and her wood molding was covered with plastic. Two coats of Sherwin-Williams ProMar 200 Dover White in an eggshell finish was applied. Her railing was replaced and we wrapped up the job by cleaning up.

This week Donigan Painting completed and exterior restain in Liverpool, NY. Nick is selling his townhouse and needed to have the front and backside scraped and restained in order for his buyers home loan to go thru. His hoa insisted this be done before he sells and with FHA backed loans often times there can be no peeling paint on a home before it is sold. Enter my painting company to fix the problem. We started by hand scraping both sides of his townhouse and then sanding the cedar clapboards to smooth for a perfect finish. Old caulk around windows and doors was removed then recaulked with a 25 year silicone caulk to match the white molding. Loose boards were nailed down and the entire site was vacuumed clean before starting the stain process. Since temperatures in Syracuse in March can vary by a lot we had to wait for the perfect time frame to allow it to set up properly and dry properly when temperatures at night were staying above 32 for at least three nights. Wednesday was that day so in the warm 50 degree sun two coats of Sherwin-Williams WoodScapes Solid Stain were applied. Once again Donigan Painting was able to provide a fix to have his house done before April 1st so that his buyer could finance it. Yesterday before I left his house the realtor put the sold sign out. Nick called me last night and is very happy everything worked out and his plans to move are in order.

Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior paint job in Syracuse's Eastwood. Karen needed to have her living room and dining room updated. The dated colors from the previous owner did not suit her taste and it was time for a change. After discussing what color scheme worked for her she picked out two colors from Sherwin-Williams. To start one coat of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint, from Purcell's Paints, was applied to both ceilings to brighten them up. Next the walls ding-dents-nail holes were filled with joint compound, pole sanded to smooth, damp sponge cleaned to remove dust. Two coats of Sherwin-Williams Cashmere in an eggshell finish were applied to the walls. The molding was caulked to fill gaps, nail holes were wood puttied and it was sanded to scuff the surface for the new paint to stick. To wrap this one up two coats of Benjamin Moore's Advanced Alkyd white semi-gloss were applied to the base, door, window molding.

Last week Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Camillus, NY. Eric and Jennifer were looking to update a few areas in their home and called in an expert to get it done right the first time. Their living room, stairway hall and kitchen needed a fresh coat of paint. After choosing colors at their local Sherwin-Williams they sent them over, we set the start date, signed off on the work and they sent the deposit. When we arrived we started out by centering and covering their furniture with plastic, removing hardware-switch/cover plates, drop cloth covering the floors and taping out as needed. Dings, dents and nail holes were filled with joint compound, sanded and then primed. Gaps and nail holes in their molding were caulked and wood puttied. The walls were pole sanded with fine grit sandpaper to remove any imperfections and the molding was scuffed to remove the shimmer then vacuumed and wiped down. Next the ceilings in each room were cut in then rolled out with Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint from Purcell's Paints. Following this all the molding was brushed and rolled in with Benjamin Moore's Advanced Waterborne Interior Alkyd Semi-gloss White. The next day we taped and draped the molding with paper then applied two coats of Sherwin-Williams Cashmere Eggshell in their color of choice pole sanding in between coats for a smooth-reflective finish that is show quality. To wrap this one up the furniture was reset, new bright white covers were placed on outlets/switches, the floor were vacuumed and all trash was removed and discarded off site.

Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Syracuse, NY. John and Jennifer wanted to infuse their taste in color in their new home in Sedgwick. The previous owners had lived there for many decades and it showed by the dated colors and decor. Many rooms had 80's style wallpaper and colors that fit that era. So to start we spent the better part of a week removing wallpaper and thoroughly cleaning the walls to remove the paste residue. Once they were clean they were pole sanded to smooth to knock down any snags or paper left behind. Following this one coat of PPG's Seal Grip Primer was applied to most of the walls to give the new paint a sound surface to adhere to. All the ceilings throughout were then liberally one coated with a half inch nap and Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint available at Purcell's Paints. Their original wood molding was sanded, cleaned, caulked, puttied then primed. Next two coats of Benjamin Moore Impervo Satin White were applied giving new life to their very dated molding without breaking the bank on replacing it all. The walls were floated as needed to cover cracks-settling and ding-dents were filled with joint compound for a smooth finish once the paint was applied. Their well cared for oak hardwoods were covered with drop clothes and two coats of Sherwin-Williams Cashmere eggshell in their color choices were put on in every room of their 3000 sqft home. The results are stunning and they couldn't be happier with the high quality results from a master painter performing the job.
