Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Manlius, NY. Jen just bought a new home and wanted to completely change the colors in every room to suit her taste. She picked a neutral palate throughout the house. Her four bedroom 3000 square foot colonial was transformed to her ideal home within two weeks. To start we applied two coats of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint throughout each room. A few areas were primed with PPG's Seal Grip that had very dark colors, wallpaper was removed from her dining room, the sun porch's knotty pine was primed with oil based. Various cracks and sags were repaired with joint compound, sanded and primed. Two coats of Sherwin-Williams Cashmere Eggshell in her specified colors were applied to the walls. Before and in between coats of paint the walls were pole sanded so they were perfectly smooth. We wrapped this one up by applying Benjamin Moore's Impervo Satin Bright White to the base-door-window-crown molding after it had all been sand scuffed to remove the shiny finish then wiped down to clean.

For the past two weeks Donigan Painting had the pleasure of working in Savannah, NY. Matt and Bethanne called a few weeks ago because while they were out of town their boiler broke and saturated their home with all kinds of nasty smoke and resins. As a result their insurance company paid to have me repaint their entire interior and install a new drop ceiling in their large refinished basement. Initially you could see black smoke resin on almost all their walls and a smokey smell permeated through out the house. So when we began we started by wiping down the walls with bleach and water to neutralize the odor and clean the walls. Following this three coats of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint were applied to make the ceilings bright white again. Next the walls were pole sanded to smooth then three coats of Sherwin-Williams Super Paint were applied in many different colors in eggshell finish for easy cleaning and a light shine to reflect light. To wrap this one up 1200 sqft of drop ceiling tiles were cut and installed in their finished basement.

Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Syracuse's Sedgwick Neighborhood. John and Joanne wanted to freshen up their living room, kitchen, dining room, hallways and half bath. They were undecided on colors so I recommended making a visit to their local Sherwin-Williams retailer to look over colors that would fit their style. After consulting with the store rep they chose two colors. When we began we started by centering and covering all their furniture in each room. Drop clothes were meticulously laid out to protect their newly refinished oak floors. We pole sanded the walls for a smooth finish, filled dings-dents with joint compound, cleaned and primed as needed. One coat of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint was applied through out each area followed by two coats of Sherwin-Williams Cashmere in an Eggshell finish on the walls so that it was slightly shiny and easy to clean. We then sand scuffed the molding throughout, wiped it down, then apllied two coats of Benjamin Moore's Advanced Paint in a bright white semi-gloss finish. Once the painting was completed we reset the furniture and left each room spic and span.

Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Fayetteville, NY. Susie called for an interior quote to repaint her new homes first floor which included her entries, living room, dining room, kitchen, half bath, office and foyer. A few rooms needed wallpaper removed and minor prep work to the walls to make them paint ready and smooth. She choose Simply White in an eggshell finish for the entire floor from Benjamin Moore for the walls and the same color in a satin finish enamel for the molding and doors. To start we applied one coat of Pittsburgh Ceiling paint through out, then two coats of Simply White to the walls followed by one coat of Simply White in BM's Impervo Satin for a lasting-durable finish on the molding and doors.

Last week Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Dewitt, NY. John and Lisa needed their living room, entry hall/stairway, and kitchen painted. They decided to go with a gray palate for their color choices. On this job we painted the ceilings, walls and base molding. To start the walls and base molding were sanded, dings-dents were filled with joint compound, furniture was centered and covered in each room. Sanding removes snags from the walls left from previous painting and makes it extremely smooth so the eggshell finish will look like glass when it has set up. The base molding is sanded to remove the shiny finish or dull it so new paint will stick. Once the prep work is done we applied one coat of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint, followed by two coats of Sherwin-Williams Super Paint in an eggshell finish making it easy to clean with the lightest of finishes or shine. To pull it all together the base molding was one coated with Benjamin Moore Impervo Satin white.

Last week Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Syracuse, NY. Gina is a regular customer who had our company stain the exterior of her home last spring and paint various rooms over the last 5 years. She is planning to put her home on the real estate market as soon as the warmer weather hits and needed to get it show ready for potential buyers. She wanted to focus on the main entrance hallway, living room, half bath and kitchen in light whites. First impressions count so what you see first when you walk through the door when selling a home needs to be top notch. We went full steam ahead with a very popular Benjamin Moore color Simply White in an eggshell finish for the walls. We started with applying one coat of Pittsburgh Ceiling to all the rooms ceilings. Molding and doors were scuffed with fine grit sandpaper to remove the shiny finish then thoroughly vacuumed and wiped down to remove dust. Prep work included pole sanding the walls, filling dings-dents with joint compound, caulking gaps along the molding for a streamlined finish. To wrap this one up one coat of Simply White enamel semi-gloss was applied to the molding and doors.

Recently Donigan Painting worked with a small business owner in downtown Syracuse. Jim just leased an office and needed to freshen it up with new paint. After meeting with him to discuss options he decided that he wanted to move forward and use whites to brighten up the spaces throughout his building. So he selected colors from Benjamin Moore's Collection that suited his taste and we got right to it. To start we prepped the walls by filling in dings and dents with joint compound, sanded the walls-doors-molding to remove snags and the shine so the paint went on smoothly and stuck. Following the preparation we sprayed out the ceilings throughout with Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint. Next two coats of the various colors he chose were applied to the walls followed by two coats of an enamel based paint on the doors and molding. He had a one week deadline and it was completed on time and to spec.
