This week Donigan Painting worked with a customer in Liverpool, NY.  Bobby and Debbie called for an estimate in March to paint their colonial home.  They wanted to use the same body color and brighten up the trim and molding with pure white.  They are planning to sell their home soon for a job move and wanted to increase it's curb appeal.  To start the house was thoroughly pressure washed to remove dirt, dust and mold.  The following week we started and went right into spraying out all the soffit and molding from a light yellow to pure white.  Following this we sprayed the body of the house with Sherwin Williams Woodscapes in Montgomery Yellow.  Once this had set up we recoated the trim with Woodscapes White.  While we were there we also replaced a corner piece of trim that a woodpecker had pecked through and painted their den-kitchen ceilings on a rain day.  To finish off this masterpiece we painted the foundation of the house a light gray to pull it all together.

Donigan Painting recently worked with a customer getting ready to sell their home in Liverpool.  John and Julie are making a move and needed to freshen up the ceilings and walls in their kitchen and living room.  They asked for my advice on color choices and I recommended going neutral.  We narrowed the choices down to some very trendy gray's and got to work.  To start we covered all the furniture with plastic and centered it.  All the nail holes and cracks in the walls from settling were floated out with joint compound, cleaned, sand, and primed.  Since their wall colors were dark red and pine green two coats of PPG Seal-Grip Primer were applied to each rooms walls.  Their stained oak base and crown molding were taped out with Frog Tape to prevent paint bleed and leave us with perfectly straight-clean paint lines.  Once the primer set up over night we returned the net day to apply two coats of Pittsburgh Ceiling paint then two coats of Benjamin Moore Regal Select Eggshell in Revere Gray.  Their house is now market ready and they were very pleased with results.

This week Donigan Painting worked with a customer on Tipp Hill.  Bill called for a quote a few months back to repaint a rental unit that was in rough shape.  He booked a start date a month ago and the work started Monday.  The ceilings, walls, doors-molding needed to be thoroughly vacuumed and wiped down to remove dust and grime.  We removed a dated kitchen back splash and replaced it with a sheet of easy to clean vinyl.  The ceilings were machine sprayed with Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint to bright white to begin the painting.  The plaster walls, with layers of ancient wallpaper, had sections that had lifted removed and filled with joint compound,  sanded-cleaned-primed.  The original wood windows, molding, and doors were primed with PPG Seal-Grip acrylic primer then spray coated using a small tip  spray attachment in Mayonnaise by Benjamin Moore in a semi-gloss finish.  All original wood knobs were covered to save the old world charm feel.  The walls were then two coated using Ben Moore's Ultra Spec 500 Interior Monterey White in an eggshell finish.  On the way out the door we coated the stairs with a gray floor enamel to finish this job off.  The before and after is night and day.  Ready to rent and looking clean cut!

Recently Donigan Painting worked with a customer in Dewitt, NY.  Beth, a realtor with Howard Hanna, called me a month ago for an estimate to paint her entry hall, kitchen and side hall.  She wanted to lighten up the areas for her new look.  The orange and green walls were two coated with Benjamin Moore Regal Select Interior in eggshell in Silver Chain and Path Moon-crescent.  To prep we taped out all the base molding, which was not being painted, sand-scuffed walls, cleaned up and cut the paint in.  After two coats were applied we did some touch ups, painted her entries base molding-door-sidelight,  and hit the railing with a fresh coat of flat black to wrap it all up.  The hope was for the kitchens new color to tie in the brand new tile back splash.  We even found time to help her out with a listing same day where she needed quarter round installed to take pictures.  The results are fantastic!  Everything has a nice flow from room to room and the colors have lightened up and enhanced her natural light.

Recently while we had warm weather this month in Syracuse Donigan Painting worked with a customer in Manlius.  Karen called for a quote because she wanted to have her exterior painted and ready to sell.  Her newer colonial did not need much prep work.  We pressure washed and did some minor scraping, mostly around the door brick mold, to remove loose paint.  Over all her house just needed a fresh coat of high quality paint to freshen it up.  We spot primed bare wood with PPG Primer and lightly sanded where we scraped to feather it in.  After the prep work was completed we applied one coat of Benjamin Moore Regal Select Exterior to the houses cedar clapboards, window-door molding, soffit, fascia-trim.   The garage doors and entry doors were painted the same colors using a satin finish making them easy to clean with out wearing off the paint with high traffic. We

caulked around windows and doors with silicone to seal out drafts.  Her deck was cleaned with deck wash then two coats of Cabot Solid Stain were applied.  It was also in excellent shape so prep work was minor for the deck.  She went with the same colors all around so we were able to make it an affordable repaint for her budget.  The house looks brand new and since it is only 10 years old it did not take much, beyond the skilled hands working on it, to shine this gem.

Recently Donigan Painting worked with a homeowner on Tipperary Hill.  Bill owns a rental property that was in need of a whole interior repaint.  From ceilings to walls to molding and doors everything needed a fresh coat of paint to get it market ready to rent.  After setting the date to start, signing the contract, a deposit, and finalizing colors we got right to work.  We began on a Monday morning at 8 am by removing wall paper in the bathroom, a tile back splash in the kitchen and  then floating plaster walls with joint compound where it was damaged and multiple layers of ancient wallpaper that would not remove were.  Next we applied a nice thick coat of Pittsburgh Ceiling paint to all rooms through out the second floor apartment with a half inch roller nap.  Following this the walls were cut in with the new color with Benjamin Moore's Ultra Spec Interior then rolled with two coats again cutting in before the second application.  The last day we sand scuffed the doors and molding then applied one coat of white semi gloss enamel.  On our way out the door we applied one coat of porch and floor enamel in battleship grey to the stairs risers-treads-stringers to complete this repaint.

Recently Donigan Painting worked with a customer in Sedgwick.  Shawn and his partner just remodeled their attic space into an office, bedroom, arts and crafts room, and a full bathroom.  New sheet rock and wainscoting were installed throughout.  They called a few months ago before the work was started for an estimate to paint the interior.  We had previously worked together many times with properties they managed throughout Syracuse so they knew what to expect and the price point for custom painting.  Once colors were finalized, the date was set, and the contract was signed we began work shortly after the general contractor finished.  The new sheet rock was primed with PPG Acrylic Primer then two coated with Benjamin Moore Regal Select Interior in various colors.  All the ceilings, including the stairways were two coated with Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint flat white.  The molding-doors were primed with the same product then painted with Ben Moore Impervo satin white. The wainscoting had multiple coats of the same products applied until it had a glass like finish to play off the limited light in that room.
