 Due to all the snow this winter many of my customers had issues with ice dams forming on their roofs and causing water damage on the inside of their house.  At my house recently I came home to find a section of my closet ceiling on the floor from water damage.  Ice had built up on my roof and got inside somehow causing the sheetrock to fail after being waterlogged.  Well once the insurance company removed the damaged sheetrock and mitigated the water damage with dehumidifiers and floor driers we were able to put the room back together.  WE started by reinsulating the outside wall and ceiling. Heavy mil plastic was installed as a vapor barrier over this.  New sheetrock was hung, taped, finished then painted.  Thankfully our insurance company was very helpful and provided us with funds to repair all the work and get back to normal.

 Donigan Painting of Syracuse New York recently painted a long-time customers den and master bedroom.  Mary and Greg are Syracuse University Professors Who live in the Meadowbrook Neighborhood.  Previously we painted their studio and the exterior of their clapboard house.  This time around they wanted two rooms improved.  They have lived in their home for 30 years and wanted to fix some overlooked finishes.  Most of the walls and ceiling in their house have joints that were not completely finished leaving a valley that is noticeable on the surfaces.  To start we removed furniture, covered surfaces and masked off as needed.  Next three coats of joint compound were applied over the course of a few days, to allow for dry time,  then sanded-primed.  Two coats of Purcell's PPG Ceiling Paint were brushed and rolled for a bright white-flat finish.  Two coats of their choice colors were applied to the walls. Following these two coats of enamel was applied to all the base-window-door molding.  Thank you for all the work!
