Last week Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Clay, NY.  Aaron called for an estimate a couple months ago to repaint his new home purchase.  The colors in his two bedroom townhouse were a bit dated and needed to be freshened up.  The peachy walls and antiques white doors and molding had to go.  To start all the doors hardware were removed as well as the doors to prep them for new bright white paint.  Since he has an attached garage and is not living there yet we set up a spray room.  Drop clothes were laid across the concrete floors and the doors were setup in a jig.  The doors where hand and machine sanded to remove the shiny finish and help the new paint adhere better.  One coat of Sherwin-Williams Emerald Enamel was applied with a sprayer for a factory finish with no streaks or brush marks.  The doors were done first to give them the most dry time so the enamel finish could harden over the 10 days we were there.  Next all the interior fixtures, cabinets, windows and floors were covered with painters plastic.  One coat of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint was applied.  The floor-door-window molding was taped out, sanded and wiped down before two coats of SW's Emerald Enamel was applied.  The tape and masking was immediately removed for clean lines after spraying to prevent tearing the paint off.  After setting up over night all the molding was taped out with Frog Tape to prevent pulling the new paint off while painting the walls.  We pole sanded all the walls to remove snags and rough spots.  Two coats of Sherwin-Williams Promar 200 in an eggshell finish were then applied to all the walls in each room.  Nail pops were removed, floated with joint compound, and retextured on the ceilings throughout for a streamlined finish.  To wrap this one up the door hardware was reinstalled and the doors were rehung.  Here is how it turned out!!
