Interior Painting Master Bedroom Brewerton New York

Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Brewerton New York last week. Kevin Fear called for a quote to repaint his master bedroom. He wanted a ballpark estimate to get an idea over the phone of what it would cost and how long it would take to paint the room top to bottom. I gave him my best shot over the phone and started about a week later. We started by centering his bedroom furniture and covering it with painters' plastic. Drop cloths were placed on the floor and painters' paper was used to mask hardware. Doorknobs, window treatment hardware, nails-screws where removed. Repairs were made to the walls with joint compound, sanded, cleaned, spot primed. Each door was machine sanded to remove the shiny finish. The walls, molding were also lightly sanded to remove imperfections and create the smoothest surface possible. Seams were caulked around the crown, base, window, door molding. One coat of Sherwin Williams ProMar Ceiling Paint was applied followed by two coats of SW's Super Paint in Classic Linen. Two coats of Purcell's Benjamin Moore Advance Alkyd in Ultra White Semigloss were applied to the doors and molding. We reset the furniture and cleaned the room to wrap this one up. The past week has had Syracuse blanketed with ice on the ground and on our roofs so when I arrived at his house I got stuck in his driveway when I went to move my van. Interior Painting Cazenovia New York

Donigan Painting recently completed an interior repaint in Cazenovia New York. Cindy wanted to repaint the first floor of her home. The dated wallpaper in some of the rooms an older color scheme had to go. After meeting to take a look at the scope of the project a typed quote was immediately sent out. We set the start date, finalized colors and signed the contract same week. About a month later work started. We centered the dining room, living room, kitchens furniture and covered it with painters' plastic. Wallpaper was removed and the walls were thoroughly cleaned to remove the paste. Hardware and fixtures were removed or masked with painter's paper. Repairs were made to the ceiling and walls with joint compound, water stains removed-sealed, and primer applied as needed. Each rooms walls were lightly sanded with a pole sander to remove imperfections. Base molding was cleaned-scuffed-caulked. One coat of Sherwin Williams ProMar Ceiling was sprayed onto the ceilings. Following these two coats of each rooms new color were applied brushed and rolled. Two coats of Purcell's Benjamin Moore Alkyd were applied to the molding in ultra white semigloss. Each rooms furniture was reset, and we left her house spotless. Thank you for all the work and enjoy your beautiful paint job!

Interior Painting Sedgwick Colonial Syracuse New York

Donigan Painting recently completed an interior repaint in Syracuse's Sedgwick Neighborhood. Rich and Lisa needed to paint the interior of their home before moving in next month. They were very concerned about the project being completed before they moved in. There were a number of repairs that needed immediate attention. Many of the walls had significantly cracked causing them to buckle and bow out. There was water damage in the foyer from a bathroom leak. The living room and dining rooms had very dated layers of wallpaper with large cracks beneath them. The cherry kitchen cabinets to them were very dated but in great condition. All of these issues were resolved within a month to meet their move in date. We started work immediately since the house was unoccupied. All the floors were covered with drop cloths, cabinets-hardware was masked with painters' plastic. First, we removed the layers of wallpaper from the living room, foyer, stairway-hall. Once the paper was removed the walls were scrubbed clean to remove the paste and repairs were made to the cracks. Some of the cracks were easily screwed down and floated without removing large sections of plaster-lathe. Others needed entire sections of the plaster and lathe removed and replaced with new sheetrock to match. The water damaged ceiling in the foyer was removed and replaced with new sheetrock. Once the major prep work was completed, we began sanding walls smooth, scuffing molding -doors, caulking seams, and cleaning surfaces. One coat of ceiling paint was applied throughout the first and second floor rooms. Net two coats of Sherwin Williams Cashmere eggshell were applied to the walls in each room. Two coats of Purcell's Benjamin Moore Advance Alkyd were sprayed onto the doors and molding for a factory finish, which means there are no brush or roller marks. We then shifted are attention to the kitchen cabinets. They chose to paint their kitchen cabinets to save money for the new counter tops. Each cabinets doors-drawers were removed and setup in a spray area in the basement. Each side of the cabinets wood was sanded to remove the shiny finish, then cleaned thoroughly. One coat of PPG Seal Grip Primer was sprayed on both sides of the drawers-doors. Wood putty was used to fill the holes left from the old hardware, sanded, cleaned. Two coats of the same product used on the molding-doors were sprayed onto all surfaces using a fine sprayer tip for a very fine finish. the doors-drawers were reinstalled and drilled for new hardware for an updated look. New pulls were screwed in and the job was completed on time with no snags. Thank you for all the work!

Interior Painting Basement Finishing Syracuse New York

Donigan Painting finished a remodeled basement recently in Fayetteville New York. Ron and Sara finished their basement this fall and needed a professional paint job to bring it full circle. After meeting to discuss their needs, a quote was formalized and sent right over. We set the date, signed the contract, finalized colors and got to work. About a month later we started bright and early. Th new wood floors were covered with painters' paper, windows-hardware were masked, walls-ceilings thoroughly vacuumed and wipe down to remove drywall dust. One coat of Sherwin Williams PVA primer was applied to the new sheetrock to seal the paper and joints. We lightly sanded all the surfaces before applying one coat of Purcell's PPG Ceiling Paint, two coats of Sherwin Williams Super Paint Beige to the walls, and two coats of Bejamin Moore Advance Alkyd White to the doors and molding. Interior Exterior Painting Contractor Syracuse New York

Donigan Painting recently completed an interior repaint in Jamesville Dewitt. Jon and Beth needed to spruce up their home to rent it for a year. They thought a fresh coat of paint in and out would do the job. After meeting to discuss their needs, a quote was formalized and accepted. The start date was set, contract signed, colors finalized. Work started a month later with the exterior. We spent a couple days hand scraping the cedar shingles, spot priming, caulking and making minor wood repairs. Once the prep work was done two coats of Purcell's Benjamin Moore Regal Exterior was matched and applied. Windows, doors, and trim around the house were one coated with the same product in bright white flat paint.

Once we completed the exterior, we went inside to refresh the foyer, kitchen, stairway-hall, a half bath and the master bath. Clean drop cloths were placed over the floors, painters' plastic covered furniture-cabinets-counters, etc. Repairs were made to the walls with joint compound. Dings-dents-scratches-holes were filled, sanded flush, clean, spot primed. Walls and molding were lightly sanded to scuff the surfaces for max adhesion. Scuffing surfaces helps the paint stick better. One coat of Purcell's PPG Ceiling Paint was brushed and rolled. Following this one coat of Benjamin Moore's Simply white was applied to all the walls. In the master bathroom sections of torn and waterlogged wallpaper were removed and replaced with the same paper to match. The base-door-window molding was cleaned-scuffed-caulked then top coated with Benjamin Moore Advance Alkyd. Alkyd is a much more durable product than an enamel. We cleaned up and reset rooms before we finished. Thank you for all the work!

Kitchen Cabinet Painting Interior Exterior Painting Contractor Syracuse New York

Donigan Painting recently completed an interior kitchen cabinet repaint. Amy just bought her first home and wanted to update her kitchen cabinets without spending a fortune on new ones. Amy called because she wanted to enhance her older oak cabinets with new paint versus refacing or replacement at a much higher cost. We met and discussed the options, my process, and the quote was tailored to her needs. She accepted the quote, so we set a start date, signed the contract, finalized colors and got to work. The first day at her home we removed the kitchen cabinets doors, drawers, hardware. Fortunately, her basement was clear and clean, so we used it as the painting -prep area for the doors and drawers. We setup tables and sawhorses to place the doors and drawers on. Painters' plastic was hung from the ceiling to contain the area and drop cloths were placed on the floor. Each side of the cabinetry was sanded with a random orbital machine sander using fine grit to scuff the surfaces for maximum adhesion. After each side was sanded, they were thoroughly vacuumed and wiped down to remove all dust. One coat of Purcell's PPG Seal Grip Primer was sprayed onto each side of the doors, drawers, rail with a fine tip airless sprayer then dried for 12 hours. The next day we lightly sanded everything again to scuff it and thoroughly cleaned it. Holes in the doors and drawers from the old pulls were filled with wood putty, sanded, cleaned, spot primed. Two topcoats of Benjamin Moore Advance Alkyd were sprayed onto all surfaces with 12 hours dry time in between coats. Once everything had cured we reattached the hinges and replaced the cabinetry. Amy picked larger u-shaped pulls that are 4 inches so we drilled for new hardware using a standard template for perfect symmetry.
