Recently Donigan Painting completed and interior repaint in Camillus, NY. Martin called a few weeks ago for a quote to repaint his stairway and hall in his Shaker Heights home. The couple had painted most of their house and had enough of it was time to call in a pro. Enter Donigan Painting. To start hardware, switch-outlet covers were removed. The railing and floors were covered with drop cloths and painters plastic. Prep work included scuffing the base-window-door molding to remove the finish, repairing nail holes-inconsistencies, pole sanding the walls to smooth, caulking gaps, priming the stair stringers with shellac based oil primer to stp the wood from yellowing. Once prep was completed two coats of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint were applied to the ceiling taking it from a light yellow to a ultra bright white dead flat. Once the ceiling set up two coats of Sherwin-Williams Emerald in Light French Gray were applied. Following this the stair stringers were primed then two coats with SW's ProClassic Semi-gloss Bright White.

Last week Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Liverpool NY. Ira and his family are moving to New Hampshire and they needed to get their house ready to show to potential buyers. When we met he was concerned about the ceilings throughout their ranch. The master bedroom, kitchen and guest bedroom had ceiling damage as well as a dark colors painted on them. So to start furniture was centered and covered with painters plastic, drop cloths were put down covering the hardwood floors, the ceiling damage was repaired with joint compound-retextured to match, and the ceilings were primed to neutralize the colors. After the primer set up two coats of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint were applied. The guest bedroom was primed and top coated with Benjamin Moore Ultra-Spec 500 bright white eggshell. We cleaned up, reset furniture- hardware to wrap this one up.

Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Syracuse's Sedgwick Neighborhood. Ilene just bought her first home and it had been neglected and needed some tlc. Her vaulted ceilings, beams, and walls were yellow and dirty. So to start the everything was wiped down and then scuffed with sandpaper to remove the finish for better adhesion of the new paint. Nail holes, cracks and crumbling corners were pointed and retextured to match. Gaps around the base, window, door molding were caulked and the walls were pole sanded. The built-ins were machine sanded, vacuumed and wiped down before one coat of PPG Seal Grip Primer was applied. Two coats of PPG Ceiling Paint flat white were applied first. Two coats of Benjamin Moore Advance in semigloss dark grey finish were applied to the beams. Three coats of Benjamin Moore Advance bright white semi-gloss were applied to the built-ins. Three coats of Sherwin-Williams Cashmere in a dark green flat were applied to the dining room walls. A section in the dining room that had a large built in was removed and the wall was floated with joint compound to flush. Once the mud set up one coat of primer was applied. Two coats of Sherwin-Willams ProMar200 in a light grey eggshell were applied to the living room and hallway walls. Once everything had enough time to setup two coats of the bright white semigloss were applied to the molding.

Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Jamesville NY. Mike needed his 20" ceiling stairway-upstairs hallway repainted. He painted most of his new homes first floor and ran out of steam headed upstairs. So after meeting and discussing his needs and expectations I sent a quote ans he accepted it a few days later. The contract was sent, the date was set, colors finalized and the deposit was mailed. When we started the floors were covered with drop cloths, the switch-outlet covers-hardware were removed as well as the railing. nail holes were patched and gaps around the base-window-door molding were caulked and scuffed for the new paint to adhere the best. Once prep work was completed two coats of PPG's Ceiling Paint were applied followed by two coats of Benjamin Moore Regal Select Revere Pewter eggshell. The door casings and molding were two coated with Sherwin-Williams Emerald Enamel bight white satin finish. The covers and railing were reset and we cleaned up. Thanks for all the work Mike!

Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Clay NY. Dean called for a quote a month ago to repaint the walls in their newer sprawling ranches first floor rooms. After 8 years the contractor grade paint had faded and they were ready for a new look. They chose to use one color in their foyer, hallways, living room, kitchen, and sun room. We set the date and work began promptly a few weeks later Monday morning. First the furniture was centered and covered with painters plastic, outlet/switch covers were removed, the cabinets/counters were taped and draped with plastic. Nail holes and cracks were patched with joint compound, sanded and cleaned. The walls were pole sanded and the base-window-door molding was taped out. Two coats of Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter were applied to all the walls. Once we were done the furniture was reset, plastic-tape were removed and we cleaned up.

Last week Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Camillus NY. Sandy and Athanas change their colors every other year and call me when they are ready. Last time, about two years ago, they had me paint their living room, kitchen, den and hallway dark reds and dark colored blues. This time they have decided to go with lighter-airy colors that will brighten up their spaces. They chose to go with off whites that will reflect light and brighten their home. So to start we centered all the furniture and covered with painters plastic, pole sanded the walls, patched the walls, caulked gaps-nail holes, and cleaned cob-webs-dust before painting. One coat of Seal-Grip Primer by PPG was applied to all the walls to neutralize the darker colors and get the walls ready for lighter paint colors. Basically when you from dark colors to light you have to prime. The base-window-door molding was scuffed to remove the shiny finish for the new enamel to adhere correctly this is a crucial step. The floors were covered with drop cloths and kitchen cabinets/counters were taped and draped with 8 foot plastic. One coat of Pittsburgh Ceiling Paint was applied followed by two coats of their color choices on the walls in eggshell finish. Once the paint set up for about a day we came back, taped out the molding as needed, then applied two coats of Benjamin Moore Advance Enamel in a bright white satin finish. Recently Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Skaneateles NY. Chris called for a quote to repaint most of the walls and some ceilings in her home after a renovation caused some issues. About a year ago Chris put an addition on their home. After a year nail pops and cracks began surfacing all over the addition. After pointing out dozens of these I had all the information I needed to get her a quote. She made it very clear that she was looking for absolute perfection. The previous contractors painter was heavy handed and used a very thick roller nap globbing the paint on in areas and leaving the finish looking like orange peel knock down on a ceiling. Upon arriving on the start date we centered all of their furniture and covered it with painters plastic. The oak base-window-door molding was taped and draped with painters paper. Kitchen cabinets, their granite and other fixtures were covered with plastic. Once everything was protected the nail pops and cracks were knocked down and floated with new joint compound. Once they set up the patches were carefully sanded to flush with the walls and ceilings. In a few of their bathrooms the ceilings texture had to be removed to get to the nail pops, patched, then re-textured to match the existing half-moon pattern. After the prep work was completed two coats of Benjamin Moore Regal Select in the same color were applied. In between coats the walls were pole sanded for a smooth-glass finish. This week Donigan Painting completed an interior repaint in Lyncourt, NY. Sarah wanted to update her homes interior with paint color that reflected her style. After meeting to figure out what exactly she wanted done we set the date, finalized colors, signed off on the work. To start the little furniture she left in each room was centered and covered with painters plastic. The floors were covered with drop cloths, outlet-switch covers were removed, the walls were sanded, nail holes-cracks were floated with joint compound-sanded-cleaned. Two coats of Pittsburgh Ceiling paint were applied to the ceilings in each room. Following dry time two coats of Benjamin Moore Ultra-Spec 500 in Revere Pewter eggshell were applied. After meeting and discussing their needs the quote was sent and they signed off on the work. We set the date and got right to work when we arrived a couple of weeks ago. Their split level had not been repainted in 30 years and it showed. So to start we covered the floors, counters, cabinets with drop cloths and painters plastic. Two coats of Pittsburgh Ceiling were applied to all the ceilings. Nail holes and cracks were patched and primed, the walls were sanded, and the molding was scuffed-caulked-puttied. Following the prep work two coats of Benjamin Moore Regal Select in an eggshell finish were applied to the walls. The base-door-window molding were two coated with Sherwin-Williams Emerald Enamel in bright white semi-gloss finish to wrap this one up.
